On this day I shall celebrate traditions from the past as building blocks for my future.

Coming of age for a Jewish boy happens at the age of thirteen---it is when he becomes a Bar Mitzvah. This tradition dates back to a Fifth -Century rabbinic text referencing a blessing recited by the father thanking God for freeing him from responsibility for the deeds of his child, who is now accountable for his own actions.

Thank you for partaking in this momentous occasion--as part of my extended family.
